Nach Eva Peróns Tod 1952 wurde ihr Leichnam drei Jahre lang nicht begraben in Erwartung des Bau eines Mausoleums, einer Ruhestätte, die nie errichtet wurde. Im Jahre 1955 übernahm das Militär die Kontrolle über Argentinien und versteckte Peróns Leichnam vor der Öffentlichkeit aus Angst, dass er das Land gegen sie vereinen könnte. Doch sie hätten nie erwartet, dass Evita ihnen dadurch im Tod noch gefährlicher werden würde, als noch zu ihren Lebzeiten.
